I've taken more than 5.000 photos here in Vancouver since this Feburary. I decided to leave my PC for my gril friend, so I was planning to burn them on CDs soon that I could take them home with me. However, a week ago my PC's HDD passed away out of blue - I had noticed weired reactions on PC the night before, but I couldn't see it coming. Man!! My photos!!! All gone!!! (I'll try to salvage data after I go back to Japan, but I'm skeptical if I can save them.) So today's lesson. Make sure you have buckuped your important and precious data. That's the way all electornic data is. You never know what's wating you around the corner.

On the next day of my returning to Japan, I started to salvage my data from the broken HDD. I removed the drive from my laptop, which was rather complicated procedure, and re-connected it to the other tower PC. Bummer!!! It was obvious some mechanical parts inside were broken and it didn't let me read any data in it. I know some places which are capable of solving this kind of problems, however I believe it would cost at least more than $1.000-. which I can afford nowhere. Mmmmm.
